“I wouldn’t be shocked if someone were to continue Corto Maltese one day” once said Hugo Pratt.

And so, 20 years after his creator’s departure, Corto Maltese will be going on a new, 30th adventure written by Juan Diaz Canales (Blacksad) and drawn by Ruben Pellejero (Dieter Lumpen).

Throughout the years, Corto has remained vividly present in the minds of millions of readers all over the word. An emblematic icon of masculine elegance, the famous adventurer was even chosen by Dior to present the Eau Sauvage perfume. In 2011, an exhibition celebrating Hugo Pratt’s work at the Pinacothèque de Paris was met with tremendous success, 25 years after the great retrospective that took place at the Grand Palais.

The new Corto Maltese book will launch simultaneously in French and Dutch with Casterman, in italian with Rizzoli-Lizard and in Spanish with Norma in October 2015.
