In the jungles of Burma a ferocious war is being fought between the Japanese and British troops. Something strange occurs when Private Jack Green joins up with the third platoon of the infantry regiment: after a couple of actions alongside Green, his new comrades become convinced that the newcomer brings bad luck. Actually, the things that went wrong would have happened with or without Jack Green, but as we all know superstitions die hard. In the end Jack manages to dispel the suspicions by saving the whole platoon when it is surrounded by the Japanese.
