ON THE PATHS OF THE IMAGINATION<\/span><\/h4>\n

Following its stop at the Palazzo delle Papesse in Siena<\/a>, the exhibition *Imaginary Geographies*, dedicated to Hugo Pratt, arrives in Li\u00e8ge at Le Cadran Expo, reaffirming its international scope.<\/p>\n

The exhibition project, previously presented in Tuscany by Patrizia Zanotti and Patrik Amsellem, is now being revived and adapted to this new setting, whilst retaining its narrative structure: a journey through the multiple geographies of Pratt\u2019s work<\/strong> <\/em>\u2014 real, literary and inner \u2014 capturing the complexity of an imaginary world woven from travel, memory and cultural layers.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

THE EXHIBITION ITINERARY<\/span><\/h4>\n

The exhibition brings together over three hundred original works \u2014 comic strips, watercolours and illustrations \u2014 accompanied by preparatory materials, sketches and documents that reveal the artist\u2019s creative process. Alongside these, multimedia installations and ethnographic objects expand the narrative, highlighting the visual and cultural sources that fuelled his imagination.<\/p>\n

The exhibition is structured as an open itinerary, a sort of mosaic of artistic and biographical references that invites visitors to chart their own path through the stories and places explored by Pratt. A journey that brings together direct experience, memory and the narrative dimension.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

THE EXHIBITION VENUE<\/span><\/h4>\n

In Li\u00e8ge, the exhibition will be hosted at Le Cadran, an iconic building within the former Li\u00e8ge-Carr\u00e9 railway station, which has been temporarily converted into a cultural space. As a place of departures, arrivals and connections, it resonates directly with the world of Corto Maltese. The architecture of the venue evokes travel and movement. Its location, in the immediate vicinity of the city centre, ensures accessibility for all types of visitors.<\/p>\n

The exhibition design will make full use of this symbolic dimension: entering the exhibition is like embarking on a journey. The visitor becomes a traveller, like Pratt\u2019s hero, crossing continents and realms of the imagination.<\/p>\n

\u201cHugo Pratt, Imaginary Geographies\u201d is the catalogue of the retrospective exhibition held in Siena from 10 April to 19 October 2025, republished as an adaptation for the exhibition in Li\u00e8ge. A journey through Hugo Pratt\u2019s graphic literature, via seven gateways to the imagination: Corto Maltese and all the other stories and characters born of Pratt\u2019s enchantment, the female protagonists, the influences of cinema and pop art, and the real and imaginary literary references in his work.<\/p>\n

Over 330 colour and black-and-white photographs, watercolours, original plates, comic books and period material. To conclude, the volume treats the reader to a complete Corto Maltese adventure, *Sogno di un mattino di mezzo inverno*, with new colouring by Patrizia Zanotti.<\/p>\n
