The land of the Phaeacians where Ulysses was found on the beach by Nausicaa, the island of Rhodes from which Corto began the hunt for treasure and Rasputin to the roads of Samarkand, the Overseas Inn in Spetse where Pratt wrote together with Michel Pierre Le femmes de Corto Maltese…now the gentlemen of fortune return to Greece.

The journey of exhibitions dedicated to Hugo Pratt in Italian Embassies and Institutes of Culture around the world continues to Greece: the project “Hugo Pratt. The Legacy, the Artwork, the Biography” arrives in Athens, during the days of Comicdom CON Athens 2024.

After Pula (Croatia), Vlora, (Albania), Oslo (Norway) and Montréal and Quebeq City in Canada, the fifth stop has arrived at the International Festival COMICDOM CON ATHENS 2024 at the Technopolis City of Athens from May 17 to 19.

From the organization: “For its 18th edition, the festival will expand further into the Technopolis exhibition spaces, offering fans of comic art a very rich program: 170 comic creators and illustrators, exhibitions of international and Greek comics and illustrations, stands of exhibitors and publishers, animation screenings, workshops for young and old, sketch events, Cosplay Contest, Greek Comics Awards, speeches and panels, with completely free admission! During the festival, exhibition spaces will be open from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.”

An exhibition in tribute to Hugo Pratt, one of the world’s greatest creators and one of the first to bring a literary aura to the expressive medium of comics. Many of his comics, including the world-famous Corto Maltese series, stand out for their combination of cinematic storytelling and historical research. The exhibition includes 27 large-scale panels that constitute a visual and informative journey through the imagery of the creator’s archetype, tracing the author’s entire career.
